The campaign in Forza Horizon 6 introduces a fresh and immersive progression system. Unlike Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Horizon 5, players begin their journey in Japan as an unknown tourist with no established status. From humble beginnings, you must climb the ranks, prove your skill, and ultimately earn your place among the Horizon elite.
Two aspiring Horizon legends, Mei and Jordy, accompany you throughout your adventure. Sharing your dream of becoming a Horizon icon, they each play a distinct role in your progression.
Jordy focuses on the competitive side of the festival, helping you qualify for races and sharpen your driving skills. Mei, on the other hand, introduces you to Japan’s rich culture through authentic day trips and unique activities, offering a deeper connection to the festival’s vibrant setting.
In Forza Horizon 6, progression revolves around completing Qualifiers and Invitationals to earn Festival Wristbands and gain access to the Horizon Festival. Events require specific vehicle types, encouraging players to diversify their garages and master different racing disciplines.
As you collect additional Wristbands, more challenging and themed events across Japan become available. These are earned by completing races and festival activities such as PR Stunts, ensuring a balanced mix of competition and exploration.
Fan-favorite Showcase Events return with exciting new highlights, including “Chaser Zero”, teased at the end of the Developer_Direct video, and the “Horizon Rush” events. Set in dynamic locations such as Tokyo City Docks, Sotoyama Ski Resort, and Irokawa Space Center, “Horizon Rush” challenges drivers to conquer fast-paced obstacle courses as quickly as possible. Players can earn up to three stars per event, with performance tracked on competitive leaderboards.
By earning all seven Festival Wristbands, players achieve the prestigious title of Horizon Legend. This unlocks Legend Island, featuring exclusive events, the demanding Legend Island Circuit, and the return of the iconic Colossus, a full-map endurance race designed for top-tier vehicles and highly skilled drivers.
To maintain balanced progression, Forza Horizon 6 prevents players from entering starter events with hypercars. These high-performance vehicles become eligible for Festival races only after earning the purple Wristband, ensuring a more structured and rewarding gameplay experience.
In addition to Wristbands, players can collect Stamps to unlock new houses, garages, Barn Finds, and access to The Estate building area.
Forza Horizon 6 also supports cross-save functionality across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5, and Steam. This ensures your campaign progress remains synchronized and up to date, no matter where you choose to play.
