iRacing Launches Exciting New DTM Series for 2026 Season

iRacing has officially partnered with DTM to introduce the all-new iRacing DTM Series for the 2026 season. This collaboration marks a major step in bringing one of Germany’s most prestigious racing championships closer to sim racers around the world.

The series is designed to closely mirror the real-world DTM championship, offering players the opportunity to experience the same cars, tracks, and race formats just days before the real drivers take to the circuit.

Real-World Alignment Meets Global Accessibility

One of the standout features of the iRacing DTM Series is its tight integration with the official DTM calendar. Each round will take place shortly before its real-world counterpart, creating a unique connection between sim racers and professional motorsport.

To ensure global participation, races are scheduled for Thursdays with synchronized start times across multiple regions. Each event begins at 8 PM in key time zones including CET, ET, PT, and AEDT, allowing drivers worldwide to compete at convenient hours.

Authentic GT3 Racing Experience

Since DTM’s transition to GT3 regulations in 2021, the series has grown significantly in popularity, attracting both rising talents and established racing names. The iRacing DTM Series fully embraces this evolution.

Drivers will compete using the official 2026 DTM GT3 cars, delivering an authentic and competitive racing experience. Each race is set to last 55 minutes, matching the format of the real championship.

To further enhance realism, a limited fuel tank has been introduced. This adds a strategic layer to races, forcing drivers to carefully manage fuel usage under pressure.

Why This Matters for Sim Racers

The introduction of the iRacing DTM Series represents more than just another official championship. It strengthens the connection between real-world motorsport and sim racing, offering players a chance to compete in a structured, globally accessible series that mirrors professional racing as closely as possible.

With recognizable cars, legendary circuits, and a format built around authenticity, this series has the potential to become a staple within the competitive iRacing ecosystem.
