Hi,
So I want to start Sim racing and have had my eye on the Logitech RS50 (mainly cuz I like the look of it and have heard good things about it) as a beginner wheel, cuz I want a large gap till when I next upgrade. My budget is around the RS50 price point, and I need some advice.
Thanx
If your budget is around the Logitech RS50 price point and you want a “buy once, upgrade later” starter, the RS50 is a genuinely sensible pick, especially if you like the look and want a clean, mainstream ecosystem. It is rated up to 8 Nm, which is plenty for strong, detailed force feedback without being unmanageable for a beginner, and TrueForce can add an extra layer of texture in supported games that a lot of owners enjoy. The main caveat is that pedals usually matter more than beginners expect, so if you go RS50, plan to pair it with a load cell brake sooner rather than later because that is what really unlocks consistency and makes the setup feel like a long-term “upgrade gap” purchase. Before you buy, it is still worth cross shopping the Fanatec CSL DD 8 Nm options and Moza’s entry direct drive bundles since they are the most common alternatives in the same general spend and can offer broader wheel ecosystems depending on what you want later. My practical take is that RS50 is a good choice if you are also budgeting for solid pedals and a stable mount, since 8 Nm on a desk can work but feels much better on a proper stand or cockpit, while if you know you will be stuck on very basic pedals for a long time you may get more satisfaction prioritizing pedals first even if the wheelbase is slightly less “premium” feeling.
