That’s an insane find for $400, and you’re asking the right question because while the T818 with the SF1000 is a very good wheel and base, it isn’t automatically the best overall setup for a $1,000–$1,500 budget. If you can realistically sell that combo for $900–$1,000, it often makes sense to do so and reinvest into a more balanced system, because pedals, especially a proper load cell set, will make a bigger difference to consistency and long-term enjoyment than the wheelbase itself. Selling would let you build something around a Moza R9 or R12 or a Simagic Alpha Mini with strong load cell pedals and solid mounting, which is a setup that will age better and scale more easily as you improve.
Keeping the T818 makes sense if you genuinely love the SF1000 wheel, mainly drive F1-style cars, don’t want to deal with resale, and can still afford good pedals within your remaining budget. My practical take is this: if you can move it near that resale price without hassle, I’d sell it and prioritize a full ecosystem with great pedals, but if resale is uncertain or you’re attached to the SF1000 experience, keep it and put the rest of your money into load cell pedals and a rigid mount, because that’s what will make the setup last.
