Pedals dilemma (MOZA SRP)

Hi! So I recently got a second hand MOZA SRP. However the throttle pedal started to squeak… I’ve been trying to fix it with multiple different ways and multiple times. After a few days of trying I just tried another method to fix it about a few hours ago, I hope the squeak doesn’t return.

Anyway here’s my dilemma, given this squeaking issue, for some reason it really gets on my nerves. So I was thinking if there were a pedal set that’s worth upgrading to, without having to spend too much extra. I’ve been looking at a few options such as Simeon plus X? I’m honestly lost with simsonn’s naming scheme as well as the difference between them… 😅 and also I saw a video on OC’s channel about a best bang for the buck which are the simnet racing sp pros. The other thing that made me interested in new pedals is the haptics rumble thingies, also not very familiar with how those work, and not sure how much more those would cost, perhaps even if I get new pedals I should hold those off first?

The main options I have in my head is,

1. keep my pedals even if the squeak doesn’t go away

2. sell my SRP and get the Stimson plus x on alibaba

3. Sell my SRP and get some other brand

im also slightly concerned about getting the simsonn’s from alibaba as I’ve never used that platform before, and idk what’ll arrive at my doorstep. I’m still new to sim racing sorry about all the things I’m not familiar with 🥲

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you! Love your videos OCRacing, my go to for all sim related stuff!

Hey! If the squeak really drives you crazy, you are not overreacting. It can ruin immersion very quickly. The first thing I would still recommend is treating the SRP throttle like a free experiment. Take the pedal off, clean the pivot points, and use a dry PTFE or silicone spray. Avoid oily lubricants because they attract dust and the squeak eventually returns. A lot of Moza SRP squeaks come from friction at the pivot or spring interfaces, and once they are properly cleaned and lubricated they often behave fine. If you get it genuinely quiet and you like the feel overall, it is completely reasonable to keep running them for now and save the upgrade money for later.

If you decide to replace them, it makes sense to be cautious with random Alibaba listings - however, some of them are also available on Amazon for more peace of mind. You can always try them out, see if you like it, and easily return if you don't. If you want the best upgrade without spending too much, I can recommend the Fanatec CSL Elite V2 pedals. They are a well regarded three pedal load cell set with solid metal construction, a much more refined brake feel than cheaper options, and a good range of stiffness choices through elastomers and springs. They are one of the best value sets if you want something that can take you from beginner to a more serious level of racing.

If you want strong adjustability and the option to add haptics later, the Simnet SP Pro pedals that you saw in the video are a solid step up from basic budget sets. They have a full metal build, independent dampers for each pedal, a solid load cell brake, and tons of adjustability. The haptics modules can be added later, so you do not need to spend extra right now. If your budget stretches much further, the Simagic P1000 pedals with HPR haptics are excellent, but they are a bigger price jump and only worth considering if you are ready to invest more seriously. For a cheaper upgrade that still feels credible, the Cammus LC100 pedals are often mentioned as good value, though the CSL Elite V2 tends to feel more refined overall.

About haptics, those rumble modules are simply small motors or actuators that vibrate the pedal based on telemetry like ABS activation or wheel lockup. They are fun and can help with trail braking, but they are optional. My suggestion is straightforward.

  1. Try to fix the SRP squeak properly. If it stays quiet and you like the feel, keep using them for now.

  2. If the squeak keeps returning or you want something more solid, sell the SRP and move to a known brand. The best short list is Fanatec CSL Elite V2 if you want a safe, proven option, or Simnet SP Pro if you want more adjustability and future haptics.

  3. Add haptics later once you have settled on a pedal set you enjoy. They are a nice enhancement, not something you need immediately.

Pedals are a rabbit hole, so your questions are completely normal. Wanting something that does not squeak and will last several years is perfectly reasonable.

Oh! Thank you so much for the reply!

Amazon isn't really a good option for me given I'm from Malaysia, so things on Amazon are usually very expensive, I also noticed that I was actually trying to say Simsonn Plus X, but it kept getting auto corrected.

Do you not recommend the Simsonn's anymore, or is it just because the other pedals you mentioned are just better hahah

The Simmson's are great for the money! In Malaysia I would also suspect that shipping from Alibaba isn't as "risky" but of course, do some research.
