Effective Date: July 9, 2026
At OC Racing, transparency is an important part of maintaining trust with viewers, readers, brands, and the wider sim racing community. This policy explains how OC Racing handles sponsorships, advertisements, affiliate links, coupon codes, product reviews, review samples, loaned products, brand relationships, and other forms of compensation or support.
This policy applies to OC Racing content moving forward, including videos, written articles, buyer’s guides, social media posts, product coverage, and other related content. It is intended to give viewers and readers a clear understanding of how products are obtained, how brand relationships are disclosed, and how editorial opinions are handled.
This written policy does not replace disclosures made in individual pieces of content. When a disclosure is relevant to a specific video, article, post, or review, OC Racing will aim to make that disclosure clearly within the content itself, in the description, near the beginning of an article, or wherever else is appropriate for the format.
Moving forward, OC Racing will disclose the relationship behind the products being covered when that relationship could reasonably matter to the viewer or reader.
For videos, disclosures may appear verbally, through on-screen text, in the description, or through a combination of those methods. For written articles, disclosures will generally appear near the beginning of the article when relevant.
The goal is simple: viewers and readers should have the information they need to properly evaluate the content and decide how much weight they want to give to OC Racing’s opinion.
OC Racing makes a clear distinction between independent reviews and paid brand work.
A product review is not a paid final verdict, recommendation, or conclusion. Brands may work with OC Racing through advertisements, channel sponsorships, event partnerships, or other clearly disclosed commercial relationships, but those relationships are separate from the review opinion itself.
OC Racing will not accept payment in exchange for a specific review, score, verdict, or recommendation. If something is paid advertising, it will be treated and disclosed as advertising. If something is a review, the opinion must remain OC Racing’s own.
A brand sending a product, providing a discount, loaning equipment, or working with OC Racing in another capacity does not guarantee a positive review or recommendation.
OC Racing’s reviews are based on direct experience, testing, and opinion.
Brands do not control OC Racing’s final opinions, scores, conclusions, or recommendations in review content. A brand relationship does not guarantee that a product will be recommended, praised, or presented positively.
There may be cases where OC Racing contacts a brand before publishing content, especially to confirm technical details, clarify specifications, ask about an issue, or ensure factual accuracy. However, fact-checking is not the same as editorial control.
Brands do not get to rewrite OC Racing’s opinions, remove criticism, change conclusions, or approve final review verdicts unless the content is clearly labeled as an advertisement or brand-controlled sponsored segment.
OC Racing may use affiliate links and coupon codes in video descriptions, written articles, buyer’s guides, social media posts, and other content.
If a viewer or reader purchases through an affiliate link, OC Racing may earn a commission. In some cases, coupon codes may also provide a discount to the customer. Using these links or codes can be a way to support OC Racing while potentially saving money on a purchase.
Affiliate links and coupon codes do not determine whether OC Racing recommends a product. OC Racing aims to work with a wide range of brands and products where possible, which helps reduce the incentive to favor any single company.
Whether someone chooses to use an OC Racing affiliate link or coupon code is entirely optional.
OC Racing may publish content that includes sponsored segments, advertisements, channel sponsors, or other brand partnerships.
A sponsored segment may be separate from the main review or editorial portion of a video. For example, a video may be sponsored by one company while the product being reviewed is from another company. When that happens, OC Racing will make that separation clear.
OC Racing may also have official channel sponsors. For example, Moza and 6Sigma Sim Racing are official OC Racing channel sponsors as of July 9th, 2026. These relationships may involve monthly compensation in exchange for things such as advertising space, website positioning, equipment used in OC Racing’s day-to-day setup, and branding opportunities.
Because of that, if OC Racing reviews, compares, mentions, or uses products from an official channel sponsor, or directly compares products that compete with an official channel sponsor, that relationship will be disclosed when relevant.
A company being a channel sponsor does not mean every video involving that company is a paid review. It also does not mean every video involving one of its competitors is sponsored or influenced by that relationship. However, it is still a relationship viewers should know about when evaluating OC Racing’s opinion.
Channel sponsors help support the cost of running OC Racing, including expenses such as office space, utilities, insurance, storage, equipment, production costs, and other ongoing business costs. These sponsorships help keep the channel sustainable, but they do not replace OC Racing’s responsibility to give honest opinions and clear disclosures.
OC Racing may receive products from brands for review, testing, comparison, or coverage. These products may be provided permanently, temporarily loaned, discounted, or otherwise made available for content purposes.
When a product is provided by a brand, loaned by a brand, or obtained through a special arrangement, OC Racing will disclose that relationship when relevant.
Receiving a product does not guarantee a positive review, a recommendation, or a specific conclusion. OC Racing reserves the right to decide whether a product is suitable for coverage and how that product is discussed.
This policy represents OC Racing’s disclosure and editorial standards moving forward [July 9th, 2026]
Where practical, OC Racing may update existing video descriptions, written articles, posts, or other relevant areas to better align with this disclosure format. Because OC Racing has published a large amount of content over time, updates to existing content may be handled gradually and where they are most relevant.
This policy may also be updated over time as OC Racing grows, as disclosure practices evolve, or as new types of brand relationships, platforms, or content formats become relevant.
If a viewer, reader, brand, or community member believes a disclosure is missing, unclear, or incomplete, they are encouraged to contact OC Racing via email at: oscar@ocsimracing.com
OC Racing would rather correct or clarify a disclosure than leave viewers guessing.
Sim racing reviews are built on trust. Many of the products covered by OC Racing are expensive, and viewers often rely on reviews, comparisons, and recommendations before deciding what to buy.
Because of that, OC Racing has a responsibility to be clear about how products are obtained, whether affiliate links are involved, whether a brand relationship exists, and whether there is any other context that could reasonably matter to the viewer or reader.
Moving forward, OC Racing is committed to clearer, more structured, and more consistent disclosure practices across videos, articles, social posts, buyer’s guides, reviews, and other forms of content.
