GT1 Evo Sim Racing CockpitvsSimXPro GT-RS Cockpit

The Bottom Line

The battle between the Sim-Lab GT1 Evo and the SimXPro GT-RS comes down to whether you prefer a lighter, highly established ecosystem or a heavier frame with a highly adjustable pedal deck. While both utilize 40x80 mm aluminum profiles, their real-world ergonomics and assembly quirks set them apart.

Watch out

The GT1 Evo has 1x1 corner brackets supporting the steering columns that can crack under heavy body weight, and its wheel deck can slip under high torque. Meanwhile, the GT-RS features short upright profiles that limit wheel height for taller drivers, and its black finish scratches very easily during assembly.

Note

Neither rig is a breeze to build. The GT1 Evo suffers from vague instructions and tedious T-slot assembly, while the GT-RS ships with no printed manual at all, forcing you to rely on a YouTube video guide.

Why choose GT1 Evo Sim Racing Cockpit

8.5
Overall Rating

  • Lighter overall weight: At 25 kg, it is significantly easier to handle and maneuver than the heavier 32 kg GT-RS.
  • Official upgrade ecosystem: Any wheel deck slipping under heavy load can be resolved by upgrading to Sim-Lab's official dedicated DD bracket.

Why choose SimXPro GT-RS Cockpit

8.2
Overall Rating

  • Superior pedal ergonomics: The highly adjustable pedal deck allows for comfortable positioning without needing to flip seat brackets.

The Verdict

If you want a lighter frame backed by a massive ecosystem and an official DD upgrade path, the Sim-Lab GT1 Evo at $449.00 (unchanged over 90 days) is a proven choice. However, if you prioritize a highly adjustable pedal deck out of the box and do not mind a heavier 32 kg build, the SimXPro GT-RS at $428.99 (with an unknown price trend) is a compelling alternative.
