Sim racing · head‑to‑head
We are looking at two entirely different ways to tidy up your sim racing space: one gets your expensive steering wheels safely onto the wall, while the other cleans up your rig's floor. Your choice depends entirely on whether you need to organize your wheel collection or make your cockpit safer and cleaner.
The Asetek wall mount is made of laser-cut steel, which can easily scratch your wheel's metal quick release mechanism. Meanwhile, the SimXPro floor plate does not include any mounting hardware, forcing you to source your own M8 T-nuts and bolts separately.
The SimXPro floor plate only fits standard 40x40 aluminium profile rigs with a 500mm inner width, and is explicitly incompatible with SimXPro XRS80, XF, and XFR models. The Asetek mount is strictly designed for SimuCube-style and Asetek-style quick release connectors.
If you want to show off your wheels on the wall and do not mind the risk of minor scratches on your quick release, the Asetek mount is a cheap and easy solution. However, if you need to clean up cable clutter and secure your footing on a compatible 500mm wide profile rig, the SimXPro floor plate is the way to go despite the missing hardware.
