Trak Racer offers two very different paths to cockpit stability: the highly expandable, entry-level aluminum profile TR40S Racing Simulator and the heavy-duty, carbon steel TR5 Hybrid Racing Simulator. While one prioritizes modular customization at a lower price point, the other focuses on absolute rigidity out of the box.
Both rigs suffer from Trak Racer's notoriously slow customer service, shipping delays, and poor assembly instructions. Additionally, the TR40S has razor-sharp aluminum edges that can cut you during assembly, while its 40x40mm base frame flexes under wheelbases over 10Nm or heavy load cell braking.
If you plan to mount a screen directly to your rig, be aware that the TR5 Hybrid's optional integrated monitor mount is reported to suffer from noticeable shaking and wobble. A standalone monitor stand is highly recommended for this setup.
If you are on a budget and want a highly customizable, lightweight platform that you can expand over time, the TR40S Racing Simulator at $314.91 is a solid entry point. However, if you use a high-torque wheelbase or heavy load cell pedals, the TR5 Hybrid Racing Simulator at $599.00 offers the uncompromising rigidity you need to avoid flex.
