simlabs are like double the price, can't imagine they're double as good
what rig do you have?
you will need an aluminium cockpit to even make use of them past like 25kg and there's no point delaying the acquisition of a good cockpit just to get expensive simlabs you can't use
I am currently making a wooden sim rig
make sure to make the pedal mount as strong as you possibly can then
multiple layers of 18mm MDF would be my pick
id maybe do 3 layers of 18mm / 2 layers of 25mm MDF/plywood and glue them
DO NOT use screws for joints because it'll just snap the screws the moment you put pressure on it. make sure you _completely cover_ the joints in a good wood glue and let them set for 24hrs
oh you will need screws, but you should rely on the glue to hold it. the screws are only there to hold the panels together whilst the glue dries
regarding pedals, just grab the simsonn plus X, and maybe get 2 haptic reactors as well - 1 for the brake and 1 for the gas pedal
high quality wood glue will make a joint stronger than the wood itself
make sure to drill pilot holes and don't cheap out on the glue
