It delivers new cars, fresh circuits, long-requested system improvements, and a completely rebuilt Spa-Francorchamps. More importantly, it shows a clear direction from the developers, something that has not always been obvious in previous updates.
At its core, this update is built around variety. The three new cars immediately highlight that approach, each offering a distinct experience rather than overlapping roles.
The Alpine A110 Cup joins RaceRoom’s free-to-play lineup, and that alone is a significant move. Lightweight, mid-engined, and heavily reliant on momentum, it focuses on precision driving rather than outright performance. This fits perfectly with RaceRoom’s strengths. Close racing, consistency, and car control are rewarded here. It is the kind of addition that benefits both newcomers and experienced drivers.
Its more aggressive counterpart, the Alpine A110 GT4+, builds on that foundation. With more power, proper GT4 aerodynamics, and deeper setup options, it moves into a much more competitive space. It feels like a natural progression rather than a completely different car, which is exactly what you want in this category. It should fit well into both sprint and endurance racing formats.
Then there is the LRT NXT1, which takes things in a completely different direction. Electric racing has been explored in sims before, but not always in a convincing way. Based on the MINI Cooper SE platform and developed with Lestrup Racing Team, the car introduces a push-to-pass system that actually requires planning. Autodromo Piero Taruffi – also known as Vallelunga, located just outside Rome, offers a flowing but demanding circuit where rhythm is key. It is not about aggressive driving or late braking heroics. Instead, it rewards smooth inputs and consistency, making it a strong fit for the cars introduced in this update.
Adria Raceway adds contrast by offering two distinct layouts. The 2003 configuration is tight and intense, ideal for touring cars and close racing. The 2021 redesign smooths out the flow and brings a more modern feel. Having both versions available is a smart decision, especially for a sim that thrives on variety in race formats. It allows leagues and players to tailor their experience rather than being locked into a single interpretation of the track.
The headline feature of this update is the complete rebuild of Spa-Francorchamps. This is not a simple visual refresh. It is a full overhaul based on recent real-world changes. Updated run-off areas, revised curbs, reworked terrain, and a fully resurfaced track bring it in line with the modern circuit.
For a track as iconic as Spa, expectations are always high. Anything less than a comprehensive update would feel underwhelming. This rebuild should deliver exactly what is needed. Current, accurate, and immersive, both visually and from a driving perspective.
Beyond content, RaceRoom is finally addressing some of its long-standing usability issues. The new steering angle system is one of the most important changes in this update. Instead of manually adjusting wheel rotation for each car, players can now set it once and let the game handle the rest.
This might seem like a small change, but in practice it removes a significant amount of friction.
