Fanatec has announced that its FullForce force feedback technology will soon be available for two of its most popular Direct Drive wheelbases. Beginning June 16, owners of the Fanatec CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro will receive access to the feature through a free firmware update, extending one of the company’s latest innovations to a significantly larger portion of its user base.

The update means that users will not need to purchase any additional hardware to benefit from the enhanced force feedback system, further increasing the value of Fanatec’s existing ecosystem.
FullForce was introduced as Fanatec’s next-generation approach to force feedback, complementing traditional steering forces with high-frequency vibration effects delivered directly through the wheelbase.
The technology is designed to provide additional detail by reproducing sensations such as engine vibrations, road surface textures, grip fluctuations, and other subtle vehicle behaviors that conventional force feedback systems often struggle to communicate. The goal is to provide drivers with a more immersive and informative driving experience.
Until now, FullForce support had primarily been limited to Fanatec’s newer ClubSport DD and ClubSport DD+ wheelbases. Bringing the technology to older products comes as welcome news for many users who have invested in the ecosystem over the past several years.
The Fanatec CSL DD, originally launched in 2021, played a major role in making Direct Drive technology more accessible by offering a relatively affordable entry point into the market. The Gran Turismo DD Pro followed shortly afterward as the officially licensed PlayStation-compatible version, available in both 5 Nm and 8 Nm configurations depending on the power supply used.
Fanatec revealed the expanded FullForce compatibility during its recent Spring Showcase event. Alongside this announcement, the company also introduced torque upgrades for its ClubSport wheelbase lineup.
The decision to bring new features to existing products highlights Fanatec’s continued commitment to supporting its hardware long after launch, rather than reserving new technologies exclusively for future products.
Although the firmware update will enable FullForce functionality on the CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro, the feature still depends on implementation by game developers.
Several major sim racing titles already support the technology on compatible hardware, including for example iRacing, Gran Turismo 7, Assetto Corsa EVO, and Project Motor Racing. However, additional games may require future updates before FullForce effects become available to players.
By extending FullForce support to the CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro, Fanatec is making one of its latest force feedback innovations available to a much broader audience.
For existing owners, the June 16 firmware update represents an opportunity to experience more detailed and immersive force feedback without the need to purchase new hardware, further strengthening the longevity of two of Fanatec’s most successful Direct Drive wheelbases.
