Update 1.69 Set for Release This Week

The upcoming update, expected to arrive as Version 1.69, is scheduled for release this week. As with previous updates, the teaser shows silhouettes of three vehicles without officially confirming their identities. This has once again sparked speculation across the community.

While Polyphony Digital has not yet provided full details, the structure of past updates gives a clear idea of what players can expect. New cars remain the headline addition, supported by smaller but consistent gameplay updates.

Three New Cars Teased

The teaser image suggests three very different vehicles are on the way.

One of the cars appears to be the Yangwang U9 Xtreme, an electric hypercar developed by BYD’s premium brand. The standard version already delivers extreme performance, but the Xtreme variant takes things even further.

The real car features 4 electric motors, totalling an estimated power output of around 2,977hp and an unofficial top speed close to 500kph.

The second vehicle appears to resemble a Porsche 911 from the 964 generation. The exact model remains unclear, with several possibilities ranging from Turbo variants to potential tuning derivatives. Until official confirmation arrives, this remains speculation based on the silhouette alone.

The third and final car seems to point toward the original Renault Twingo. This compact city car from the 1990s offers a clear contrast to the other two additions. Known for its simplicity and lightweight design, it typically produces between 58 and 75hp depending on the variant.

This mix of vehicles continues Gran Turismo 7’s approach of blending high-performance machines with everyday classics, giving players a broader range of driving experiences.

Additional Content Expected

Beyond the new cars, the update is also expected to include several smaller additions and improvements. While not all features have been officially confirmed, previous updates suggest a consistent pattern.

Likely additions include new races and event layouts as well as additional World Circuit challenges as usual.

Community Reaction

The potential inclusion of the Yangwang U9 Xtreme has drawn attention due to its extreme performance figures, while the Renault Twingo has been seen as a fun and unexpected addition. The Porsche silhouette has generated the most discussion, with players trying to narrow down the exact variant.

As usual, the teaser format has done its job by getting the community involved in speculation ahead of the full reveal.

Final Thoughts

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.69 looks set to deliver another standard content drop, focused on variety. The combination of an electric hypercar, a classic sports car, and a compact city vehicle continues the game’s broad approach to car culture.

With the full update details expected shortly before release, the current teaser offers just enough to build anticipation.
