Moza M-Booster Active Pedal · $561.85Check Price →

The Moza Racing M-Booster Active Pedal is one of the company’s most ambitious and talked-about products to date. Out of all the groundbreaking hardware Moza has released over the years, this might be the most technically advanced—and the most hyped. It’s an active-force feedback pedal that simulates road texture, brake lockups, traction loss, and even engine vibrations, delivering sensations that go far beyond traditional load cell or hydraulic setups.

What It Is and Why It Matters

The M-Booster follows in the footsteps of the Simucube Active Pedal, a product that set the benchmark for realism but carried an equally unreal price tag. While Simucube’s active pedals start at around $1,800 for the Pro and reach $2,400 for the Ultimate, Moza has managed to bring similar technology to market for $800. That still makes it one of the most expensive single pedals you can buy, but it’s also less than half the price of its nearest competitor.

Moza has built its reputation by taking ultra-premium concepts and delivering them at more accessible price points. The M-Booster continues that tradition, offering sim racers a glimpse into the future without entirely breaking the bank.

Design and Build Quality

In terms of design, the M-Booster shares its visual DNA with the Moza CRP2 pedals, featuring an all-aluminum body finished in matte black with soft gold accents. The build quality is exceptional. Every edge, curve, and joint feels precise, and the pedal holds firm under even the hardest braking pressure with no flex or creaking.

It is, however, massive. So much so that Moza actually sells an optional pedal plate extender to make it fit comfortably with existing CRP2 pedal sets. It can also be used as a standalone unit with third-party pedals, but it requires a USB connection to a PC, meaning console users are left out once again.

Worth knowing: the M-Booster is massive, may need the extension plate with CRP2 sets, and it is PC-only over USB.

Some physical adjustments, like pedal tilt and face position, can be made manually, but all major tuning is done through Moza’s Pit House software. Resistance, travel, damping, and preload are all fully adjustable digitally. This is a big part of what makes the M-Booster so appealing—every setting can be changed on the fly without tools.

Performance and Feel

On track, the M-Booster delivers a realistic and precise braking experience that feels every bit as refined as other high-end pedals. Equipped with dual 200 kg load cell sensors and a 21-bit encoder, it provides incredible accuracy and consistency. The braking input feels smooth and stable, and my lap times matched those I achieved using other premium pedals in this price range.

The standout feature, of course, is the active feedback system. You can feel simulated ABS pulses, traction loss, and surface vibrations directly through the pedal. It’s an impressive piece of engineering, and when it works well, it adds an exciting new dimension to immersion. However, it’s important to understand what this technology actually is.

Rather than using deeply integrated game physics, the effects are triggered by telemetry data such as wheel slip and ABS activation—essentially the same type of data used by rumble kits for years. The M-Booster’s motor is far more advanced than a simple vibration motor, but the feedback it delivers is still based on general cues rather than precise real-world tire dynamics. The result is convincing but not revolutionary in terms of raw information.

The takeaway: the active feedback adds immersion and information, but the review found no proven lap-time advantage yet.

Comparison to Competitors

Compared to the Simucube Active Pedal, the Moza M-Booster offers roughly 80% of the experience at less than half the cost. It lacks some of the deeper telemetry mapping and fine-tuned control Simucube provides, but the trade-off in affordability makes it an attractive option for those who want an active pedal without spending thousands.

Against high-end traditional pedals like the Heusinkveld Ultimate+ or Cube Controls SP01, the M-Booster is competitive in terms of precision and overall feel. What sets it apart is convenience: changing the pedal’s feel takes seconds rather than hours of spring swapping and adjustment. That level of flexibility is unmatched in this price range.

Real-World Impressions

During testing, the M-Booster impressed me most with how customizable it is. Switching from a stiff Formula-style brake to a soft GT-style pedal took only a few clicks in software. That kind of adaptability makes it appealing not just for enthusiasts, but also for professional teams and sim centers where multiple drivers share the same rig.

Still, it’s worth being realistic. While the active feedback is fun and adds immersion, it doesn’t currently offer a competitive advantage in racing. The hardware potential is massive, but software support from sims will need to evolve before this technology truly becomes a must-have.

Final Thoughts

The Moza M-Booster Active Pedal is one of the most interesting innovations in sim racing today. It’s built beautifully, feels fantastic, and offers unrivaled adjustability for its price. Yet, for most racers, it remains a luxury rather than a necessity.

At $800, it’s not cheap, but it delivers a futuristic experience that hints at where the industry is heading. For now, it’s best suited to enthusiasts who value immersion, flexibility, and cutting-edge tech. If you’re chasing faster lap times alone, premium load cell pedals like the Heusinkveld Sprint or Moza CRP2 will serve you just as well.

Cheapest today: $562.54 at Advanced Sim Racing.

Between $542.29 and $759 over the last 12 months. The cheapest shop has changed recently, so we are not calling this a rise or a fall.

Still, as a glimpse into the next generation of sim racing hardware, the M-Booster is both impressive and exciting. It may not revolutionize performance today, but it unquestionably sets the stage for tomorrow.

FINAL VERDICT

Beautifully built and unrivalled in adjustability for its price, but still a luxury rather than a necessity.

Ideal buyer: enthusiasts who value immersion, flexibility and cutting-edge tech.

Major drawback: high price and no proven competitive advantage yet.

Bottom line: buy it for the immersion and adjustability, not for lap time alone.
