The long-awaited free roam mode for Assetto Corsa EVO is finally approaching. Kunos Simulazioni has confirmed that the first version of the Eifel Free Roam Mode will be introduced with the upcoming Version 0.10 update.

Free roam has been one of the most anticipated features of Assetto Corsa EVO since the simulator was first revealed. The Eifel region surrounding the Nürburgring Nordschleife has been shown in trailers and promotional material since the early stages of development, giving players a glimpse of a much larger environment beyond traditional racing circuits.
With Update 0.10, players will finally be able to explore part of this environment themselves.
The initial release is described as the first iteration of the Eifel Free Roam Mode. This means that the complete vision for the feature will not be available immediately. Instead, Kunos plans to expand the accessible area and functionality over time during the game’s extended Early Access period.
The free roam environment is designed to go beyond simply driving around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Players will be able to explore the surrounding Eifel region, including both paved and off-road areas.
The environment is intended to support more relaxed driving and exploration alongside the traditional track-focused experience of Assetto Corsa EVO. NPC traffic will also form part of the experience, with different traffic density or behaviour levels planned to provide scalable options.
Free roam is expected to support both single-player and multiplayer use, allowing players to explore the environment alone or drive through the region with others.

The Eifel environment has been one of EVO’s defining features since before the simulator entered Early Access. Rather than treating the Nürburgring as an isolated circuit, Kunos has been building a larger representation of the surrounding region.
The first free roam release will only cover part of the planned experience, however. Further areas and features are expected to be added through subsequent updates.
Kunos has not yet announced an exact release date for Version 0.10. Based on the current update schedule, however, the update could arrive as early as October 2026.
The previous major update, Version 0.9, was released in August and introduced several changes to Assetto Corsa EVO, including updates to the tyre model, physics and other areas of the simulator.
Version 0.10 now shifts attention toward one of the features that has been associated with EVO since its initial reveal.

The introduction of Eifel Free Roam represents another significant stage in Assetto Corsa EVO’s Early Access development. While the first release will be limited compared with Kunos’ longer-term plans, it will give players their first opportunity to experience the wider Eifel environment directly.
More locations, roads and features are expected to follow as development continues.
For now, the exact release date and the full scope of the first iteration remain unknown. What is confirmed is that Eifel Free Roam is coming with Assetto Corsa EVO Version 0.10, finally turning one of the simulator’s longest-promised features into a playable part of the game.
The arrival of Eifel Free Roam marks an important point in Assetto Corsa EVO’s Early Access development. While Version 0.10 will only introduce the first iteration of the mode, it finally gives players access to the wider environment that has been shown since the game’s reveal. With more roads, areas and features planned for future updates, the free roam mode should continue to evolve alongside the rest of EVO throughout Early Access.
