HOW I TESTED

REVIEW UNIT: Moza sample

COMPARED AGAINST: Moza CS Pro

The Moza Ford Mustang GTD wheel is the first product from Moza’s partnership with Ford, an officially licensed 330 mm D-shaped rim modeled on the wheel in the real Mustang GTD. It is also, underneath the styling, very closely related to Moza’s own CS Pro. I like this wheel. It is comfortable, packed with inputs, and good to drive with. It is also a little underwhelming, because at $429 you are paying a $100 premium over the CS Pro for what amounts to a styling and licensing package.

Moza sent this product to me for review.

What Is the Moza Ford Mustang GTD Wheel?

The Mustang GTD wheel is a 330 mm flat-bottom rim with microfiber leather grips, a 2.99-inch HD display, and a center design built around the Mustang logo, a center stripe, and sharp blue accents with internal stitching. It launched on October 22, 2026 at $429, and it works with all current Moza wheel bases. It can also be used on third-party bases when paired with Moza’s hub kit.

On paper, the specification is strong. In practice, the more time I spent with it, the more the review became a comparison with the CS Pro, because that is the wheel this one is based on.

How It Compares With the Moza CS Pro

The two wheels share a lot of hardware. The wrap and rim thickness are the same, the button module is identical, and the clutch and paddle shifters, screen, telemetry lights, backlit buttons, and encoders all carry over. The general look and feel in the hands is very familiar if you have used the CS Pro.

Side by side: the CS Pro (left) and the Mustang GTD wheel (right) share the same button module, screen, and shifters.

The Mustang wheel does add things of its own. It gets four additional buttons in the center spoke and two added switches, it grows to 330 mm (5 mm larger than the CS Pro), the flat bottom mimics the real car, and the redesigned paddle shifters look excellent. For the extra $100, those differences and the Ford Mustang licensing are what you are buying, and the licensing will matter more to some buyers than others.

There are also areas where the CS Pro is genuinely better. Its full round rim is more versatile than the Mustang’s flat-bottom shape. It has grooves on the back of the rim that help with grip and comfort, something the Mustang wheel does not have. Its carbon composite faceplate and metallic center spoke look more premium than the GTD wheel’s entirely plastic faceplate. Even the CS Pro’s forged carbon paddle shifters arguably feel better, although they look more generic.

Controls and Functionality

Functionality is where this wheel is hard to fault. You get 12 backlit buttons on the front and 2 more on the rear, 4 rotary encoders with a lighting effect that gives the setting you are on a distinct color, 2 thumb encoders, 2 seven-way switches, 2 toggle switches, 10 RPM LEDs, and 6 flag LEDs. The clutch and paddle shifters are aluminum.

Every input is backlit, and each rotary encoder changes color as you move through its settings.

The thumb and rotary encoders have a good amount of resistance, which I appreciated. There is no shortage of things to map here, and everything falls within easy reach while driving.

Materials and Touch Points

The touch points feel OK at best, and this is my main criticism of the wheel. There is a lot of plastic here, and it takes away from the realism and feel. Something as simple as wrapping the center cap in suede or leather and fitting a metallic Mustang logo would have gone a long way.

The paddle shifters are a good example. They look great, but on my unit they have a small amount of flex and a click that is both underwhelming and loud, which hurts the overall experience. I also dislike brands putting their own logo in the center of a licensed wheel like this, and Moza has done exactly that here, which again takes away from the realism the licensing is supposed to create.

The redesigned aluminum paddles look great, but they flex and click loudly on my unit.

Pit House Software and Display

Customization through Moza Pit House is excellent. You can customize the RGB lighting on the buttons, encoders, and telemetry lights, and the 2.99-inch display supports a variety of customizable dashboards, all of which look sharp. If you like tailoring a wheel’s lighting and dash layout to your own setup, this wheel gives you plenty to work with.

Driving Impressions

Out on track, the experience is genuinely good. At 330 mm, Moza nailed the sizing: the wheel feels substantial without feeling oversized, the rim thickness is excellent, and the material and molding are comfortable over longer stints. Ergonomically, everything is exactly where you would want it.

On track the 330 mm sizing feels spot on, substantial without feeling oversized.

Build quality holds up well during driving. There is a little flex if you deliberately push and pull against the outer rim, but I found nothing notable under actual use, including at higher force feedback settings.

One caution: at 2,189 grams, just under 5 pounds, this is a heavy wheel. In my opinion it is too much wheel for the Moza R3 or R5 bases, so I would pair it with a stronger base.

Price and Value

At the time of writing, the Mustang GTD wheel costs $429 at Moza, and code OCRACING takes a further 3% off. The CS Pro costs $329 with the same 3% code available. You can check the current price of the Moza Ford Mustang GTD wheel at Moza’s store.

That $100 gap is the whole story of this review. The Mustang wheel is not better to drive than the CS Pro in any meaningful way. The premium buys the flat-bottom shape, the extra buttons and switches, the blue accents and stitching, the paddle design, and the Mustang branding. Whether that is worth $100 depends entirely on how much the Mustang name means to you.

Final Verdict

If you are a Mustang enthusiast, love the styling, or simply want a comfortable, feature-packed wheel with plenty of functionality, you will be happy with the Mustang GTD wheel. It is a fantastic wheel, and you will not regret buying it.

If the Mustang branding does not particularly matter to you, save the $100 and get the CS Pro. It is arguably more premium in certain areas, it is more versatile thanks to its round rim, and it offers practically the same driving experience for less money. The Mustang GTD is a great wheel. The CS Pro is simply better value.

FINAL VERDICT

Recommendation: Recommended

Ideal buyer: A Mustang fan who wants the licensed styling in a comfortable, full-featured wheel.

Major drawback: Plastic touch points, especially the flexing, loud paddle shifters.

Bottom Line: A great wheel that drives almost identically to the CS Pro, so the $100 premium only makes sense if the Mustang branding matters to you.
