The Simagic Zeus lineup is one of the more interesting steering wheel ecosystems Simagic has released in a while. Instead of building three completely independent products, the company has created a modular platform where screens, wheel rims, connection methods, and even paddle configurations can be shared or changed depending on what you actually need.
There are three main wheels to choose from. The Zeus Sport starts at $330, the Zeus GT comes in at $350, and the flagship Zeus Formula starts at $500. Each targets a different type of driving, but they all share the same basic idea of giving you more room to customize the wheel without replacing the complete unit.

The Zeus Sport is the most affordable model and comes standard as a 320 mm round wheel. It uses a combination of perforated faux leather and suede around the rim, making it a natural fit for road cars, rally, drifting, oval racing, and general use.
Functionality is still quite strong. You get eight backlit buttons, two 7-way switches, two thumb encoders, two rotary encoders, an integrated RGB rev light strip, magnetic shifters, and clutch paddles. There is some plastic on the front plate, but overall it feels solid and is probably the most versatile option of the three.
The Zeus GT costs $350 and uses a smaller 300 mm U-shaped rim. It has a more focused driving position, with the controls slightly angled toward your hands, and the real carbon fiber accent on the front gives it a more premium appearance.
The biggest omission is the lack of thumb encoders, which are some of the most useful controls on modern GT wheels. Still, the shape and ergonomics make it a strong option for anyone who primarily drives GT cars but does not want something as specialized as a formula wheel.
At the top sits the Zeus Formula. It costs $500 without the display and uses a dedicated 280 mm formula-style shape with a 5 mm carbon fiber front plate and CNC-machined aluminum rear housing.
It also has considerably more functionality. There are 14 front buttons, four rotary encoders, four thumb encoders, two 7-way switches, and two additional backlit buttons on the rear. The standard paddles are also upgraded to carbon fiber, giving the Formula a more substantial feel than the cheaper models.
Interestingly, it is also the least customizable wheel in terms of physical shape. Unlike the Sport and GT, you cannot replace the complete rim or grips with a different style. It also looks noticeably more complete with the optional display installed, and without it, the Formula loses the main integrated shift light setup found on the other two wheels.
The Formula is also fairly heavy for its 280 mm size. That added mass can slightly soften the feeling of a lower-torque wheel base, although the difference becomes much less noticeable once it is paired with something more powerful.
Probably the cleverest part of the entire Zeus ecosystem is the optional Simagic Dash4. The 4-inch touchscreen costs $200 separately, with lower bundle pricing available when purchased with certain wheels, and it supports both Simagic dashboards and SimHub.
None of the Zeus wheels require the screen. Instead, each has a removable center cover that can be taken off in seconds, allowing the Dash4 to snap directly into place. Remove it from one Zeus wheel and you can immediately install it into another.
That means someone who owns a Zeus Sport and Zeus GT does not necessarily need to purchase two displays. You can simply move the same Dash4 between them depending on what you are driving.
The display itself is bright, responsive, and easy to read while driving. It can even operate in a mouse mode, effectively turning the touchscreen into a small trackpad for controlling your PC from the simulator. With SimHub support included, the available dashboard options are basically endless.
The Sport and GT take modularity even further with interchangeable wheel rims. The standard 320 mm Sport can be converted into different D-shaped, rally-style, or square configurations, while the GT also has alternative square and D-shaped designs.
Simagic offers these in different leather and suede finishes, with replacement rims generally costing between $60 and $90. That gives you a relatively inexpensive way to dramatically change the size, shape, and feel of the wheel without purchasing another complete button box.
The downside is that changing rims is not especially fast. There are quite a few small bolts that need to be removed and reinstalled, so this is more of an occasional configuration change than something you will want to do between every race.
All three wheels include magnetic shifters and clutch paddles as standard. The shifters have a short and tactile action while remaining surprisingly quiet, although the standard paddles on the Sport and GT are plastic and definitely feel like it.
Simagic offers optional upgraded paddle modules for anyone wanting something more substantial. There are also additional three-paddle configurations and a push-pull paddle system that lets you shift both up and down using the same hand.
It is another area where you can start with the standard configuration and upgrade later rather than paying for every feature immediately.
The Zeus ecosystem supports Simagic bases as well as third-party hardware, but this flexibility comes with a fairly confusing collection of accessories. What you need depends on the wheel, display, wheel base, and whether you want a wired or wireless connection.
The optional ALink module handles certain wireless configurations, while the MagLink Pro provides a more durable wired connection to a PC and is particularly useful when pairing a Zeus wheel with a third-party wheel base. Both cost around $45.
There are also accessories such as the MagLink Pro Extend and MagDock for specific configurations. The ecosystem is impressively open, but I would strongly recommend checking Simagic’s compatibility information before ordering everything because it is easy to end up unsure about which combination you actually need.
The best choice mostly comes down to the cars you drive. The Zeus Sport offers the broadest versatility and is probably the easiest recommendation for someone who races a little bit of everything. It also happens to be my favorite of the three.
The Zeus GT makes more sense if GT cars make up most of your driving, while still giving you enough flexibility for plenty of other disciplines. The Zeus Formula is the specialized option for formula cars, prototypes, and anyone who wants the most controls and highest-end construction.
The Simagic Zeus wheels are interesting mainly because of the ecosystem surrounding them. Being able to share one touchscreen between several wheels, replace complete rims, upgrade paddle modules, and even use the wheels with third-party bases gives owners far more flexibility than a traditional fixed steering wheel.
The tradeoff is complexity. There are a lot of accessories and connection methods to understand, and the Formula loses some of the physical customization that makes the cheaper wheels so interesting.
Once you figure out exactly what your setup requires, though, the Zeus platform makes a lot of sense. The Sport provides excellent versatility, the GT gives you a more focused layout, and the Formula delivers the most premium and feature-heavy experience. Altogether, it is easily one of the most customizable steering wheel ecosystems Simagic has produced.
