Assetto Corsa has officially confirmed that the Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport will be added as part of the upcoming 0.6 update for Assetto Corsa Evo.

The 911 GT3 R Rennsport was designed for pure racing passion rather than adherence to any rulebook. Weighing just 1,240 kg and producing 456 kW (620 HP), it achieves an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 2 kg per horsepower. This places it outside the homologation of all major racing series.
With a full focus on performance, the car features design elements inspired by Porsche’s racing heritage, including a retro-style rear wing that pays tribute to its legendary predecessors.
Based on the 911 GT3 R (992), this special model includes numerous Rennsport-exclusive features. These range from a carbon fiber exterior to a modified interior, as well as a reworked engine with higher compression, bespoke pistons and camshafts, and a silencer-free exhaust system. Additional highlights include unique BBS wheels, specially designed Michelin tires, and an optimized upshift function for maintaining peak RPM during gear changes.

Assetto Corsa Evo has received significant criticism following a controversial update. While new content additions are appreciated, core aspects of the game remain unfinished or lack polish, resulting in an inconsistent and sometimes frustrating driving experience.
Despite this, the introduction of the Rennsport and additional vehicles in the 0.6 update shows continued development progress, even if that progress is slow. The update will include five more cars alongside a new circuit.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport represents an unfiltered vision of what a GT3 car can become when freed from regulatory constraints.
Its arrival in Assetto Corsa Evo adds another layer to the experience, offering players the chance to drive one of the most extreme interpretations of a modern Porsche race car. However, while the content itself is exciting, the overall success of the update will depend on how well the underlying issues of the game are addressed.
