Better Pit Lane Behavior and Race Control Improvements

One of the biggest changes in this patch affects pit lane speed control systems.

iRacing has adjusted the race control rules surrounding pit speed limits to add a little more tolerance when cars are extremely close to the speed limit. The aim is to reduce penalties caused by small physical oscillations or slight speed fluctuations that can happen naturally.

Additional safeguards were also added to prevent unintended pit speed overshoots, while pit entry systems now provide slightly more flexibility for drivers entering pit lane.

Other race control fixes include:

  • Heat Racing sessions now generate correctly when track limitations conflict with grid sizes
  • Event admins can once again rewind events containing only qualifying and race sessions

UI and Fuel Calculator Fixes

Several user interface improvements are also included in this iRacing update.

Weekend Rules now consistently display qualifying scrutiny information in every session. Pace speed and pit speed values have also returned to the Weekend Rules Widget.

Some interface elements have also received visual adjustments:

  • Incident Tracker and Session Rules are now permanently shown at full opacity
  • Session labeling issues during Heat Racing events were fixed
  • Session Entries no longer appear empty during replays
  • Team race “Expand All” functionality now works correctly

The Fuel Calculator received multiple fixes as well:

  • Fixed incorrect stint calculations
  • Resolved crashes affecting Mercedes-AMG W12 and W13 E Performance cars
  • Fixed a rare simulator freeze caused by invalid stint calculations

New Spotter Pack Added

Drivers looking for additional immersion in iRacing, now have a few new spotter options available, including a new language.

The update introduces the new Ukraine – Vitaliy Chizhuk spotter pack, alongside audio updates for existing spotter packs including:

  • Chinese – Tong Li
  • Italian – Renzo A. Olivieri
  • Italian – Marco Arcidiacono
  • Spanish – Ari Cejas

GT3 Cars Receive Traction Control Changes

GT3 machinery also receives an important handling adjustment.

Dry traction control intervention has been reduced at the more restrictive end of settings, while wet TC behavior at lower settings has also been adjusted. Maximum assistance levels remain unchanged.

According to iRacing, these changes are scaled across the entire range and aim to fine-tune behavior rather than completely transform it.

Car-Specific Fixes

Several vehicles also received targeted fixes:

Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020

  • TC settings updated across all setups

BMW M8 GTE

  • Rear anti-roll bar stiffness issue corrected

Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTE

  • Fixed pit stop text issue

EURO NASCAR V8GP

  • Fixed spoiler colors for fixed paint schemes
  • Fuel adjustments disabled during fixed setup races
  • Damage visuals improved
  • Opponent vehicles now display proper spoiler positions and tire compounds

Modified SK

  • Increased effectiveness of the force feedback low-pass filter to reduce strong steering oscillations while stationary

Track Updates

Some iRacing tracks also received smaller but entertaining improvements.

Algarve International Circuit

Flagman Barney finally received an actual flag, replacing his previous hand-signaling method.

Charlotte Motor Speedway (Legends Oval)

Fred’s pace car behavior was updated to improve pit entry and avoid unnecessary pace car passing penalties.

Qualcomm Circuit (Naval Base Coronado)

  • Fixed invisible grandstand crowd issues
  • Aircraft carrier names and numbers corrected

Final Thoughts

The pit lane changes could improve race consistency, GT3 drivers get some important traction control adjustments, and several long-standing bugs across UI systems, cars, and tracks have now been cleaned up.
