Assetto Corsa Evo 0.6 Expands GT3 Grid With Ford Mustang and Ferrari 296

With the upcoming 0.6 update, Assetto Corsa Evo adds two new GT3 class cars.

Together, they expand the currently scattered lineup of cars.

Mustang

The Ford Mustang GT3 Arrives

The Mustang GT3 is easily one of the most interesting additions in this update, developed alongside Multimatic Motorsports.

Its 5.3-litre Coyote V8 gives it that raw, aggressive identity that GT3 often lacks. It is loud, it is brutal, and it stands out immediately. That alone already makes it a strong addition to the game.

From what has been shown, this is the earlier version of the Mustang GT3 rather than the updated Evo version introduced in 2025. That lines up with what we have already seen in Assetto Corsa Competizione, suggesting Kunos is working with a familiar base before moving forward.

That might sound like a step back at first, but in Early Access it actually makes sense. Building a stable foundation matters more than chasing the newest spec right away.

Ferrari 296 GT3 Strengthens the Grid

Alongside the Mustang, the Ferrari 296 GT3 joins the lineup. This is one of the most competitive GT3 cars in modern racing.

With the BMW M4 GT3 Evo already in the game, this starts to look like a real grid. Not complete yet, but finally something that feels intentional.

Kunos has already stated that version 0.6 will be more racing focused than 0.5, and this lineup proves exactly that. It also makes it pretty clear that more GT3 cars will follow.

Sebring Completes the Package

The addition of Sebring International Raceway ties everything together. This is not just another track. Sebring is rough, unforgiving, and exposes every weakness in both car and driver.

Putting GT3 cars on a track like this just makes sense. It adds authenticity and finally gives the content a proper environment to exist in.

Community Reactions

The Mustang GT3 reveal has already sparked a lot of discussion. Over on Reddit, the general reaction is pretty positive.

Some players are excited about the variety it brings. GT3 grids can feel samey, and the Mustang breaks that pattern instantly. Others are just hyped about finally getting more proper race cars instead of random additions.

There are also questions about handling and balance. People want to know how it compares to the Ferrari and BMW, and whether it will actually feel unique to drive.

At the same time, there is still some caution. A few comments pointed out that content alone is not enough. Physics, force feedback, and overall consistency still matter way more in the long run.

Still an Early Access Experience

Everything here needs to be seen in the context of Early Access. Assetto Corsa Evo is still evolving, and updates like this are part of shaping the final direction.

Version 0.6 feels like a shift from experimenting toward something more structured. GT3 racing is a strong foundation, and it gives the sim a clear identity moving forward.

What This Means Going Forward

This update is not just about adding cars and a track. It shows intent. Kunos is starting to build a proper racing environment instead of just expanding content for the sake of it.

If this continues, the GT3 category could become the core of the experience. More cars, better systems, and a more complete racing structure are the logical next steps.

Final Thoughts

Version 0.6 should be a step forward. The Mustang GT3 brings character, the Ferrari adds competitiveness, and Sebring gives everything a proper stage.

There is still a lot to improve, no question. But this update finally gives a sense of direction, and that is exactly what was missing before.

If Kunos keeps this up, Assetto Corsa Evo could turn maybe make the game worth what it once was supposed to be.
