Sensit Haptics MTC-P Extreme 2: Everything You Need to Know

The Sensit Haptics MTC-P Extreme 2 is one of the most interesting haptic products in sim racing right now, mainly because it solves a problem that a lot of other systems never really do. Traditional buttkickers need to be bolted somewhere onto the rig, external transducers add even more wiring and hassle, and most seat pads either look awkward or force you into a seat you may not even want. This takes a different route.

Instead of adding haptics onto your setup, the MTC-P Extreme 2 replaces the cushion inserts of your current seat. Two cables route underneath, a compact control box hides below, and from there a single USB cable runs to your PC. The result is a much cleaner and much more integrated setup than most alternatives, which is really the whole point of this product. Of course, the big catch is the price.

What the MTC-P Extreme 2 actually is

The MTC-P Extreme 2 is a set of seat inserts with built-in haptic actuators designed to fit into sim racing seats that use removable cushions. That means it is not universal in the same way as a buttkicker or a standalone transducer, but it also means the final result can look almost OEM when installed properly. And honestly, that is the biggest reason this thing stands out so much.

Not every seat will work with it, but plenty do. If your seat has removable pads, there is a good chance this system can be made to fit. That includes a decent number of popular sim racing seats, which makes the concept much more practical than it may first sound. Still, compatibility is the first thing anyone interested in this needs to check.

Comfort is actually one of its best features

One of the more surprising things about the Sensit is that the pads themselves are genuinely comfortable. In fact, I would go as far as saying they are better than many stock seat cushions. They have a good amount of padding, use a breathable mesh fabric, and after long sessions they stayed cool, firm, and comfortable. That matters more than people may think.

Because unlike a buttkicker or an external transducer, this product lives directly where your body does. If the comfort was poor, the whole idea would start falling apart immediately. Thankfully that is not the case here at all. The pads feel premium, look premium, and do not come across like some compromised aftermarket add-on.

There is a lot more hardware inside than you might expect

Only two of the included inserts actually contain the haptics themselves, while the rest are there for padding and fitment. The lower back pad contains eight actuators, made up of two larger and six smaller ones, while the bottom cushion contains six actuators, with two larger and four smaller units. Altogether, that gives you 14 actuators across the full system.

That matters because this is not one big vibrating pad. The upper and lower seat sections can be controlled in separate areas, which gives the system more potential than a simple rumble setup. On paper at least, that allows different effects to be split across different parts of your body, which is exactly the kind of thing you would want from a premium haptic product.

The Sensit software is good, but it needs tuning

Within the Sensit software, you get individual force adjustments for gear shifts, engine vibration, ABS, wheel slip, and road feel, each adjustable from 0 to 100 percent. There are also two presets. One is more immersive and lets you feel more of the overall experience, while the other is more competitive and focuses more on driving cues such as ABS and wheel slip. That gives the system a decent amount of flexibility right out of the box.

Out on track, the overall responsiveness felt very strong. Gear shifts in particular were excellent, with each upshift delivering a sharp and defined kick through the seat that made the drivetrain feel more physical. Engine vibration was also convincing, while ABS, wheel slip, and road effects all had real presence. The claimed low latency also felt believable, because there was very little noticeable delay between what the car was doing and what I felt through the seat.

That said, the default intensity was simply too high for me. At standard settings, the system could feel more distracting than useful, which is not really what you want from something this expensive. This is not a weak haptic system where you wish it had more punch. If anything, the opposite is true. The actuators are powerful enough that tuning quickly becomes essential.

Performance is strong, but it is not perfect

Once dialed in properly, the MTC-P Extreme 2 can feel very immersive and at times genuinely impressive. The actuators hit harder than you might expect from something built into a seat cushion, and the whole thing remains surprisingly quiet considering how much force it can generate. That is another big advantage over some traditional solutions, because the feedback stays more contained in the seat rather than turning the whole rig into a noisy vibration machine.

Still, there are limitations. I was not always able to clearly tell different road textures apart purely from the haptics alone, and left-to-right detail was not as obvious as I would have liked. If half the car was on a curb, I could tell something was happening, but I could not always tell clearly which side it was coming from. That does hold the system back a bit if you are expecting full directional detail from the start.

SimHub makes a real difference

The good news is that switching over to SimHub improves things. Sensit’s own software is simple enough and works well for getting started, but SimHub gives you far more control and, once properly tuned, the overall experience became more useful and more convincing. The directional information improved, the effects separated a bit more clearly, and the system felt more informative overall.

The downside is that this takes time. A lot of time, honestly. There is plenty of back and forth involved, and it is one of those products where the final result depends heavily on how willing you are to sit down and fine-tune it. Once I did that, the system became much more enjoyable and much more effective, but it is definitely not a perfect plug-and-play solution.

Price is the real sticking point

At a starting price of around $650, the MTC-P Extreme 2 is clearly not trying to be the haptic solution for the masses. If all you want is strong vibration for the lowest possible cost, then a buttkicker or a more traditional transducer setup will still make more sense for most people. Those options can deliver a big part of the immersion for much less money, and for a lot of sim rigs that will remain the more sensible route.

But with the Sensit, you are not only paying for raw haptic strength. You are also paying for the way it is integrated. The clean installation, the OEM-like look, the comfort, the quiet operation, and the fact that it genuinely feels like it belongs in the seat are the things that separate it from the more common alternatives. And for some buyers, that will matter a lot.

Final thoughts

The Sensit Haptics MTC-P Extreme 2 is not the best value haptic product in sim racing, and I do not think it is really trying to be. What it offers instead is a more refined, more design-conscious solution aimed at people who care just as much about cleanliness, comfort, and integration as they do about the haptics themselves. That makes it a much more niche product, but also a much more interesting one.

If you are building a higher-end rig and want a hidden, comfortable, and genuinely impressive haptic system that feels far more integrated than the usual options, then the MTC-P Extreme 2 is absolutely worth paying attention to. It is not perfect, it needs tuning, and the price will put a lot of people off. But for the right person, it delivers something most other haptic systems simply do not. A very clean solution that still hits surprisingly hard.
